LGA Needs You!

LGA's Active Committees: Please join today!

If you are interested in joining one of our committees, use our online form or print out a hard-copy sign-up sheet.

  • Office Committee - We are always looking for people to help with the following: mailings, filing, telephone coordination, database management proficiency (Excel/Access); grant research & writing.

  • Education and Outreach Committee assists the education & outreach coordinator with program implementation. Helpful qualities include: science/water quality knowledge; teaching background; grant writing/research; organizational skills.

  • Communications/Marketing Committee helps shape the LGA’s image and maximizes the program’s ability to inform and educate the community on LGA programs and issues within the scope of LGA’s mission. Helpful qualities include: experience in public relations, graphic/website design, photography, writing.

  • Finance Committee assists with the management of LGA finances, the preparation of financial statements/budgets, and oversees audits and investments. Helpful qualities include: experience in financial management/planning or accounting; familiarity with QuickBooks.

  • Building and Grounds Committee assists with maintenance and improvements to the LGA office and grounds. Helpful qualities include: general “handyman” skills; interest/ability in landscaping.

  • Government Relations Committee coordinates advocacy on issues before LGA's committees and interacts with state and federal legislators.

  • Lake Saving Projects Committee assists the Lake Saving Projects coordinator, who is in charge of all LGA remediation projects. Helpful qualities include: watershed management knowledge; understanding of stormwater management; engineering experience.

  • Land Use Management Committee monitors development projects throughout the Basin and advocates for appropriate land use. Helpful qualities include: Town Board (PB, ZBA) members; planning background; knowledge of land use law; knowledge of wastewater treatment concerns.

  • Membership Development Committee actively pursues new members for LGA, participates in community events, and assists with fundraising events. Helpful qualities include: experience with membership development, fundraising, or event coordination; good people skills; enthusiasm.

  • Personnel Committee provides guidance and oversight regarding LGA staffing concerns. Helpful qualities for committee members include: experience in human resources management.

  • Water Quality Committee promotes improved water quality by encouraging review of all available data and use of proven technologies. Helpful qualities include: science/limnology background; water quality testing/lake management experience.
