LAKE GEORGE NATURE TALKS SERIES SCHEDULED FOR THE SUMMER
Lake George, NY – The Lake George Association and the Lake George Land Conservancy are teaming up to offer an exciting lineup of speakers all summer long. Topics will cover natural history and ecology of many of the plants and animals found in the Lake George watershed. All talks are Thursday evenings at 7 pm. They are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
Talks will be held at either the Lake George Association office in Lake George or the Lake George Land Conservancy office in Bolton Landing. Check the schedule for the location of each individual talk.
The first talk on Thursday May 17th will be “Lake George Birds: Native and Migrating Species” by Joan Robertson and will be held at the Lake George Association office on Route 9N in Lake George.
Joan Robertson is a local naturalist and birder, and she is a founding member of the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society. She has traveled widely in all 50 states as well as abroad, adding quite a few birds to her “life list”. Join Joan to learn about birds that can be found in the Lake George area from the early spring when they return north until the fall when they leave, as well as a few that stick around all year. Learn what to listen for and where to go to see these birds around Lake George.
Coming up next in May on Thursday, May 31st is “Adirondack Wildflowers” with Maryde and Larry King. This will also be held at 7 pm at the Lake George Association office.
