TIMBER RATTLESNAKES TO BE FOCUS OF NATURE TALK AT THE LGA

Lake George, NY – The Lake George Association (LGA) will be hosting a presentation about Timber Rattlesnakes on Thursday, September 11, starting at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

The presentation is part of a series of Lake George Nature Talks being offered jointly by the LGA and the Lake George Land Conservancy.

Dr. Bill Brown will speak about this amazing species, its natural history and habits, as well as conservation and management of the Basin’s rattlesnake population. The Timber Rattlesnake is common on Tongue Mountain on the west side of Lake George. Snakes have even been known to swim to some of the islands in The Narrows.

Dr. Brown began a field study of the Timber Rattlesnake, a threatened species in NY, in the Lake George Region in 1978.

The LGA office is located on Route 9N in the Town of Lake George, just off Exit 21 of I-87 between the Mobil Station and the ADK building.

For more information, contact the LGA at (518) 668-3558 or check out LGA on the web at www.lakegeorgeassociation.org.
