Scholarships

The Lake George Association is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity to graduating high school seniors that will be attending college or technical school. The LGA will make a cash award of $250 to a senior who submits the best essay of 800 words or less on the role Lake George has played in the student's life and why the lake should be protected for the future.

Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
· The student's experience on the Floating Classroom
· Employment and recreation experiences
· Preserving and improving the water quality of the lake

The student is encouraged to use his or her own ideas and be as creative as possible. The essay must be word processed with a 12 or 14 font and double spaced. A resources cited page must be attached if research is done and facts are included. Essays must be postmarked or submitted to the LGA by May 11, 2007. The LGA's Education Committee will judge the essays and inform the participants of a winner by May 25, 2007.
