Lake George volunteers for the New York Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program take water samples from Lake George to measure water quality

Lake George Citizen Science programs engage members and volunteers in monitoring lake quality, area wildlife, and invasive species.

There aren't enough scientists to be everywhere at once, so the LGA depends on volunteers to help us learn more about the Lake. Lake George volunteers gather important information that can be used for management decisions in the future to help protect the Lake and its wildlife.

Citizen science programs are funded by the Helen V. Froehlich Foundation and the NYS Department of State with funds provided under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund.
