Let the hunt begin! Join our first Summer Invasives Hunt, starting June 5, 2023 (the beginning of New York’s Invasive Species Awareness Week) through August 20, 2023 (the last day of the LGA’s Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring Weekend).
Our goal is to create a community map that pinpoints where invasive species are living on land and in the water. To be part of this community science team, join our Facebook group,<<link where we will post new invasive species for you to find, snap photos of, and post on the group page. In mid-August, we’ll gather everyone’s finds to enter into iMapInvasives to make our map.
For added incentive, everyone who takes part in the hunt throughout the summer will be eligible to enter into a raffle for four Floating Classroom tickets.
